Marcel·lí Antunez - Workshop
The aim of the course is the preparation and presentation of a stage performance with objects and performers in the context of a collaborative creation. Marcel·lí Antúnez will take advantage of the course of this study and essay to shell out his knowledge and experiences in this environment as well as other frameworks in which his artistic career has developed.
In recent years I have done a series of collaborative works of a scenic, performative nature and also related to the installation in which I have used large visual elements that become dramatic objects decisive in the story that is told. Some of these objects have been used as static sets, but most of them have been moving elements such as clothing, animals, symbolic icons or giant figures.
More of these works have been developed to be performed only once as a specific action. This is the case of Fargabudell (2014), Alsaxy (2015) and Tracapelló (2017). Others have been intended to become visual installations either in three dimensional or muralistic form to be temporarily exhibited or to remain in one place for a season. This is the case of Monutafi (2015), Pittsburg (2016), Milcaps (2018) or the cycle Traspassant Murs (Beyond the walls), in which three murals have been produced with the titles Revolupià (2018), Parapupapia (2019) and Upceanopia (2020-21).
My purpose at the time of constructing these elements, whenever possible, has been to use economical or waste materials such as plastic packaging and carboard, in an attempt to extend the life of materials designed as disposable objects.
