Description

Musical codex with a selection of Marian tropes and sequences for one, two and three voices. There are thirteen polyphonic pieces (5 Sanctus, 2 Agnus and 6 proses) and belong to the conductus genre, very present in the Notre-Dame school.
After the Codex of Las Huelgas, it is the most important with repertoire from the second half of the 13th century of those preserved in the Iberian Peninsula. It seems to come from the Carthusian monastery of Scala Dei (Tarragona), but it is more likely that it was used and even copied by the monks of the Cistercian monastery of Santes Creus.
