Els Ulls de la Història: The Carthusian Monastery of Escaladei

The new museographic experience at the Carthusian Monastery of Escaladei offers a journey through the history and architecture of one of the most important monasteries on the Iberian Peninsula – from its founding in 1194 to its dissolution in the 19th century.
 
This intervention aims to preserve the characteristic atmosphere of the monument, revealing the monastic life of the Carthusians – their influence in the Priorat region and the coexistence of their austere daily existence with the feudal power they accumulated over centuries.
 
Through a combination of visual elements – 3D recreations, light effects and projections, and historical objects – the exhibition immerses you in the spiritual and physical world of Escaladei, highlighting its architectural and cultural evolution.
