The Solsonès Regional Archive (ACS), which is part of the Generalitat Archives Network, was inaugurated on March 30, 1995. The creation agreement was signed on January 31, 1984. It currently holds more than 1,000 linear meters of documentation and, chronologically, it spans from the 13th century to the present day.
Among the documentary collections that make up the archive are the City of Solsona Archive and the old notary of the Solsona district; alongside it, due to its special importance, we must add the Josep Maria Vicens i Purgimon (1910-1955) photographic collection, as well as a significant number of collections from the Solsona associative fabric: the Orfeó Nova Solsona, the Associació de Festes del Carnaval, etc. In 2010, the ACS celebrated its 15th anniversary; During this time, it has gathered more than 160 documentary funds and collections, and has consolidated a strong bond with the society of Solsona.
The archive is closely related to the territory and, since its birth, had a great territorial vocation. This reality is evident in many facts; for example, more than 89% of the documentary funds of the local Administration are in the Regional Archive. Its premises occupy part of the old hospital of Llobera, an outstanding building of Catalan civil Gothic.
The Regional Archive of La Selva (ACSE) was created on June 16, 1982, and was officially inaugurated on April 29, 1983.
The first headquarters of the archive was located on the ground floor of the old College of Nuns of the Heart of Mary, located on Ave Maria Street in Santa Coloma de Farners. In the winter of 2005, the Regional Archive moved temporarily to Francesc Camprodon Street, where it remained until March 2015. On March 21 of this year, the new building was inaugurated, located on Sant Dalmau Street, in the old town of Santa Coloma de Farners.
The ACSE has 2,100 linear meters of documentation deposited from the 13th to the 21st century. The municipal collections of Breda, Massanes, Osor, Santa Coloma de Farners, Sant Miquel de Cladells and Vidreres stand out; the notarial collection of the Santa Coloma district; collections of various kinds (Prat, Rovirola, Masoller, Vinyes, Trias, Termes Orion, Agricultural and Forestry Training School, etc.), and the collection of the military clinic no. 5 of the International Brigades. Also noteworthy is the collection of printed matter (more than 8,300 between 1829 and 2015), as well as the photographic collections of Francesc Xavier Aulí and the Oller family (19th-20th centuries). The archive also has a library specializing in regional topics (5,000 registered books) and an auxiliary newspaper library (19th-20th centuries).

The Regional Archive of the Ribera d’Ebre (ACRE) is a new building that was built on a plot of more than 1,000 m2 that was owned by the City Council of Móra d’Ebre. Externally, it is designed as a single corner volume that is segregated into two volumes, which are accessed through an interior patio created by the screen walls and the building itself.
The Archive was inaugurated on April 24, 2007. It is attached to the Department of Culture and is part of the Regional Archives Network. Its management corresponds, jointly, to the City Council of Móra d’Ebre and the Regional Council of the Ribera d'Ebre.
The main mission of the center is to preserve and manage the funds of public administrations, institutions or individuals of the Ribera d'Ebre. The management and conservation of documentation is complemented by the equally important task of disseminating this documentary heritage and making it available to the citizens of the region.
The ACRE manages 74 documentary collections, totaling an approximate volume of 1,052.2 linear meters. The local administration collections stand out (Móra d’Ebre Town Council, Torre de l’Espanyol, Benissanet, Tivissa, Rasquera, Ginestar, Vinebre, Ascó and Palma d’Ebre). The Archive also manages important documentary collections of private ownership.
The agreement to create the Priorat Regional Archive (ACPR) was signed on 22 September 2000 and was inaugurated on 27 July 2005.
The Archive is located in one of the buildings that form part of the castle in the town of Falset. Construction of the castle began at the end of the 12th century, on a small hill located to the west of the town. The same space housed, for many years, the heritage archive of the Catalan territories of the Duchy of Medinaceli.
The most significant documentary collections of the archive are, among others: those of the town councils of Falset and Capçanes; the microfilmed collections of the barony of Entença and the county of Prades; that of the Roger de Cabacés farmhouse, and that of Joan Pascó i Ardèvol, notary of Porrera and, later, of Falset, which has a good part of the notarial drafts, from the end of the 18th century to the first third of the 19th century, which partly replace the loss of the district's notarial archive in 1936. It is worth noting the large number of funds from agricultural cooperatives in the region that have been deposited there; specifically, ten, and the oldest is the Sindicat Vinícola del Baix Priorat de Marçà, created in 1912.
The Pla de l’Estany Regional Archive (ACPE) is located in the cloister of the Sant Esteve monastery in Banyoles. It became operational in 2007 thanks to the agreement signed between the Catalan Goverment (Generalitat de Catalunya), the Pla de l’Estany Regional Council and the Banyoles City Council. It has the dual function of Pla de l’Estany Regional Archive and Banyoles Municipal Archive.
It has three types of spaces: the one intended for the public, with a consultation room and a multipurpose room; the work room, for archivists, and the documentation custody room, which corresponds to two deposits with a capacity for 5,500 linear meters, one for photographic collections and the other for large-format documents —parchments and plans.
It houses a rich variety of documentary heritage that illustrates the society, economy and history of the region. We highlight the collection of the Banyoles Town Hall (1244-2017); that of the company José Gimferrer SA, manufacturer of jute bags (1914-1989); that of the farmhouse of Can Mariscot de Camós (1214-1941), and the collection of photographs by Lluís Martí (1880-2012). The collection of Carles Fontserè (1910-2016), poster artist, photographer, illustrator, set designer and writer, deserves a separate chapter. A recognized poster artist during the Civil War, Fontserè had to go into exile first in Paris and then in New York, but ended up returning to Catalonia, specifically in Porqueres, where he lived the last 34 years of his life.
The Pallars Sobirà Regional Archive (ACPS) was created by the agreement signed by the Sort City Council, the Pallars Sobirà Regional Council and the Department of Culture of the Catalan Goverment (Generalitat de Catalunya) on 27 July 1992 and was inaugurated on 28 April 1995 by the Honorable Minister of Culture, Joan Guitart i Agell. It is part of the Regional Archives Network of the Generalitat de Catalunya, is attached to the Department of Culture and Media and is managed by the Pallars Sobirà Regional Council.
The ACPS safeguards the funds of most of the town councils in the region, the funds of the Pallars Sobirà Regional Council, the funds of the notary district, the Mortgage Registry, various patrimonial and personal funds and has a microfilm copy of the Pallars, Vilamur and Catalonia General funds of the Archivo Ducal de Medinaceli.
The Pallars Jussà Regional Archive (ACPJ) was inaugurated on 12 February 2009. It is located in a unique new building designed by architects Joan Arnalot and Elena Belart, and is located on the site of the former Casa Sullà, of a noble lineage from Tremp that dates back to the 15th century, within the old town of Tremp. The building also houses the headquarters of the Pallars Jussà Regional Council.
On 23 December 2009, a collaboration agreement was signed between the Department of Culture and Media, the Pallars Jussà Regional Council and the Tremp City Council for the management of the ACPJ. This agreement and the current archive legislation facilitate the incorporation of the Tremp municipal archive and the archives it held, such as the notarial archives of the Tremp district, the judicial archives, the archives of the municipalities added to Tremp, etc., into the new headquarters of the ACPJ.
This archive holds public and private documentation from the Pallars Jussà region in accordance with the provisions of Law 10/2001, on archives and document management. It also has an important newspaper library of publications from the region and an auxiliary library on historical and archival subjects.
