Set within the natural surroundings of the Llobregat Delta, Casa Gomis, also known as La Ricarda, is one of the most outstanding examples of Rationalist architecture in Catalonia. Designed between 1949 and 1956, the house was developed through a sustained correspondence between the Gomis-Bertrand family and the architect Antoni Bonet Castellana, who was then living in exile in Argentina.

The result was a building that is carefully integrated into, and respectful of, its surrounding landscape. It is crowned by an undulating roof, a distinctive element that echoes the rhythm of the nearby coastal pine groves. Porches, courtyards, glass walls and carefully designed furniture link the different areas of the house, creating a seamless flow between inside and outside.

Ricardo Gomis’ close connection with music influenced the design of spaces intended for concerts and gatherings. From its opening in 1963, Casa Gomis became a landmark of the Catalan cultural avant-garde, hosting theatrical and musical events organised by Club 49.

In January 2025, Spain’s Ministry of Culture acquired the property to ensure its conservation and support future public access.
