Helena Sotoca

Helena Sotoca, better known on social media networks as Femme Sapiens, has been promoting art history from a feminist perspective since 2020. Through her research and outreach work on images, she uncovers the gender issues that have affected the lives of women and artists. She published her first book in 2022, Ni musas ni sumisas. Una revisión del arte occidental con perspectiva feminista, which is now in its sixth edition. She collaborates fortnightly with the newspaper Público, where she makes art more accessible for readers by linking it to current affairs. In her podcast, La maja sesuda, she proposes an examination of images in the form of an interview with leading women. She has also collaborated in radio with RNE and with Catràdio in its section Mirades divergents.
