Josep Maria Masip
Head of the Sustainable Production and Consumption Division in the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition of the Government of Catalonia
He has a Degree in Chemical Sciences, specialising in Chemical Engineering, and holds a Master in Environmental Engineering and Management. Following an initial period working in the chemical sector, he is currently responsible for several strategic areas within sustainable production and consumption, including eco-design, environmental management systems, green public procurement and eco-labelling, with the aim of contributing to sustainable development.
He has taught on several master’s, postgraduate and other course degrees at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Public Administration School of Catalonia (EAPC) in subjects related to sustainability and environmental management.
In his role within the Government of Catalonia, he works towards encouraging decarbonisation, efficiency in the use of resources and the transition to a circular economy.
