Paul Spies Director of the Stiftung Stadtmuseum in Berlin and Chief Curator of the Berlin Global exhibition at the Humboldt Forum
Paul Spies was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands in 1960. He studied Art History and Classic Archaeology and founded the D’arts art history office together with two colleagues immediately after graduating. He worked there for 21 years until he was appointed director of the Amsterdam Museum in 2009. He has been director of the Stadtmuseum Berlin and the State of Berlin’s chief curator at the Humboldt Forum since 1 February 2016.
