Journey to the origins of Pau Casals
The Pau Casals Foundation has launched a route for us to immerse ourselves in the figure of Pau Casals, cellist, teacher, conductor and music composer. A great innovator and driving force for the popularisation of music. It is aimed at tourists, designed for people interested in music, the figure of Pau Casals and traditional high-quality food and wine.
DISCOVER THE PERSONAL SCENERY OF PAU CASALS IN EL VENDRELL
Visit the house where he was born, the Church and the Baroque organ, the sculptural work of Josep Viladomat and the tomb of the master. A journey to discover his most intimate surroundings: the music, flavours and the smell of the sea.
GUIDED TOUR OF THE PAU CASALS MUSEUM
We then move on to the maritime quarter of San Salvador, where Pau Casals had his house built close to the sea. Nowadays it houses the museum dedicated to the musician, where you can enjoy a guided tour.
CELLO RECITAL AND WINE TASTING
Music will be played in the gardens of the Villa Casals: you can enjoy a cello recital with a glass of DO Penedès wine in the sculpture gallery of the museum.
LUNCH WITH TRADITIONAL RECIPES FROM PENEDÈS
Coca enramada, xatonada salad and carob cake are the delicacies that await us at the end of an intensely cultural morning. Traditional recipes from the Penedès region which round off a day dedicated to the senses.
